The Verve Senior Living team is cheerfully working to spread the festive buzz through our residences across Canada this month! With an enthusiastic approach, we make it our daily mission to show our residents that they matter. It’s our hope that in turn, they are inspired to spark a little festiveness themselves – because community is what makes our Verve residents so special!
Last month our residents took part in honouring the bravery, service, and ultimate sacrifice on Remembrance Day, enjoyed tasty Happy Hour, as well as took part in I Love to Write Day among many more! Just another way we put the special into the every day at Verve.
While art for art’s sake is beautiful and worth it in its own right, the process of creating, talking about, and learning about art can be even more life-enriching. Did you know that creative seniors visit the doctor less, take less medication, and have higher morale? Verve Senior Living is proud to offer its residents the Meet Me at the MoMa program, which utilizes prints, sketches, and photography from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) with an accompanying art lecture series. Residents can try working in different mediums, as well as engage in intellectual conversation about art history, the artists, and their works. Designed to engage all residents from Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Families are also welcomed to join their loved ones who reside in Memory Care to experience Art firsthand.
Decembers star ingredient: Cranberry Did you know December’s star ingredient is high in vitamins C, E, and K? The tart little cranberry is a powerhouse of antioxidants—great for reducing inflammation—as well as an alley in preventing urinary tract infections and cavities thanks to its a-type proanthocyanins. Therefore, these juicy little red berries are part of this month’s Living Loving Local recipe for you to try.
