The Near North Palliative Care Network, graciously received a grant, funded by the Government of Canada New Horizons Seniors program. Along with the support of Ohana Yoga & Wellness Centre, they invite seniors to an upcoming FREE event on March 31st, 2022, hosted by a local leader and social entrepreneur, Hariett Madigan. SENIORS SHARING THE CARING, will be held at St. Joseph’s Motherhouse Thursday, March 31st, 2022, with the participation of seniors and representatives of several communities in the districts of Nipissing and East Parry Sound, and the local media. SENIORS SHARING THE CARING is a project to combat social isolation and to promote seniors’ physical and psychosocial wellness through volunteering. Some of the volunteering opportunities include gardening in the pollinators’ flower bed at North Bay waterfront, as well as raising awareness about the 13th Live Butterfly Release, at The Kiwanis Bandshell / North Bay waterfront, Sat July 09th, 2022 from 11am to 2pm. This Event is a FREE fun day, full of wellness activities, guest speakers, with complimentary lunch, refreshments, and door prizes. There will be fun wellness activities for seniors, short presentations about the benefits of engaging in volunteering, and how to participate in the upcoming volunteering activities of the Butterfly Release this summer.
